Several earthquake events that shook Jakarta's city some time ago (M 6.4, 2018; M 7.4, 2019; M 5.4, 2020, BMKG) have impacted awareness of earthquake risk in Jakarta more broadly.
The Baribis fault, as one of the active faults in the West Java region, is indicated to continue to the south of DKI Jakarta (Simandjutak and Barber, 1996). However, evidence of the activity of the Baribis fault still lacks information.
The Baribis fault line along the West Java region has important implications for the threat of natural disasters, which will be significantly affected by an earthquake. Micro-earthquake observation studies are expected to explain the activity of earthquake sources under Jakarta and its surroundings.
The data used in this study were obtained from a borehole seismometer instrument funded by PT Reasuransi MAIPARK Indonesia.
