M 6.7 SOUTH OF JAVA

The earthquake was caused by Australia - Indian Ocean Plate activity which positioned along Eurasian Plate border in South of Java. No Aftershocks was recorded until now. This earthquake did not occur in the seismic gap that Maipark team predicted recently.

M 6.1 EAST LUWU EARTHQUAKE

The earthquake was caused by Matano Fault activity which positioned along Matano Lake. The angle of Fault (dip) is 90 degree. Length of this fault is 541 Km, and movement rate is 44 mm/year. With these parameters, this zone has potential maximum magnitude of 7,3.

M 6.0 KAIMANA EARTHQUAKE

From the Focal Mechanism released by USGS, the earthquake likely caused by Lowland Fault Zone activity which positioned in Papua's neck. The angle of Fault (dip) between 49 degree. Compared with previously big earthquake in 30 September 2010 (Aru Islands Event), it was a different earthquake source, although distance between each epicenters was less than 100 km.

M 7.7 MENTAWAI EARTHQUAKE

The earthquake caused by plate subduction activity between Indian Ocean Plate beneath Eurasian Plate in Sumatra fore arc. This Earthquake occurred in the Mentawai Segment. The angle of subduction (dip) between 30 - 45 degree and the length of this Mentawai Segment is 605 kilometer. The biggest earthquake occurred in this segment was 8.2 which happened on September 2007. Based on this fact we can conclude that this segment is in very active period.

M 7.2 ARU ISLANDs EARTHQUAKE

The Subduction of South Banda Sea is the Source of these seismic activities. The M.7.2 Earthquake was preceded by an aftershock with Magnitude 6.2 just one minute before the mainshock. Meanwhile the aftershocks frequently occurring while we writing this report. it was already five aftershocks with moderate energy in M5-M6.
