Monday afternoon, at 13.21 the skyscrapers in the capital city of Jakarta swayed. This vibration was caused by an earthquake that occurred in Cianjur, West Java with a magnitude of 5.6. Employees who were in tall buildings immediately ran out of the building to find a safe haven. Based on information from the BMKG, the epicenter was on land with a depth of 10 km Southwest of Cianjur Regency.
Even though it was stated that there was no potential for a tsunami, because it was centered on land, this earthquake resulted in damaged and collapsed buildings. In addition to the damage to buildings, there were also casualties and injuries.
